1/2 C shortening
1/2 C butter (softened)
1 C packed brown sugar
3/4 C white sugar
1 C peanut butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 C all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 C oats
3/4 to 1 C chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Cream together first 5 ingredients until smooth.
3. Beat in eggs one at a time. And add vanilla.
4. Combine flour baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
5. Mix in oats and chocolate chips until just combined.
6. Drop by tsp. onto ungreased cookie sheet.
7. Bake 10-15 minutes or until slightly brown.
Yield: 4 dozen
